26th Annual Blue Demon Invitational

*The course is a new layout for 2016 all grass except for covered road crossings and the event will be chip timed!
When: Saturday, September 3, 2016
Where: Christiansburg Primary/Elementary School Grounds
Time Schedule: 7:15 9:00 Packet Pick-up
8:00 New Blue 5K run (Public Race) 3.1 Miles ($20, awards to top 3 male and female overall)
8:30 Middle School Race 2 Mile $ 5 per individual or $ 35 per team (free if your varsity teams are competing)
9:00 Varsity Girls 5K -$10 per individual or $70 per team
9:45 Varsity Boys 5K -$10 per individual or $70 per team
10:30 JV Girls 5K -$ 5 per individual or $ 35 per team (free if your varsity teams are competing)
11:15 JV Boys 5K$ 5 per individual or $ 35 per team (free if your varsity teams are competing)
AWARDS Will follow last race ASAP (near the finish chute)
Course: Most of the course is very hilly and demanding. 99% of the course is on grass, but there is some asphalt the runners will be crossing. Please remind your runners to wear appropriate shoes. The course will be mowed and marked clearly with little yellow flags on both sides of the running area. There will be painted arrows on every turn so no one gets confused. There will also be road monitors to stop traffic if necessary. The course is an official 3.1 mile race.
Parking: There will be a $5 parking fee for cars and trucks to park at the course or in reserved lots across the street at the National Guard Armory or in the lot in front of the Sherman's Clothing Dept. Store Building.

Restrooms: Will be located inside the Christiansburg Elementary School on top of the hill.
There will also be two porta-johns available for use.
Entries: Up to 7 in each varsity race. Unlimited entries in the JV races. 8th graders may run either the JV race or the middle school race. 6th, and 7th graders will not be allowed in the JV race. They must run the 2 miler at 8:30.

Awards: Varsity Top 3 Teams will receive a trophy
Each Top 7 runner will receive a medal so that each member of the team can take a piece of the trophy home with them.
JV Top 3 teams will receive a trophy
Top 10 in each race will receive a medal
*** Top 7 times of the day (JV and Varsity combined) receive an All Meet Team T-shirt
Middle School Top 3 boys and girls receive a medal
Shirts/Concessions: Meet technical shirts will be available for purchase.
*"Crazy Cakes Pancakes" and The "Yellow Grill" food truck will be selling unique concession items and refreshments on site.

Directions to the Course:
From South I-81:
Take I-81 North towards Roanoke
Take Exit 114 (Christiansburg/Route 8)
When you come off the exit, you will take a LEFT towards Christiansburg.
Once you take a left, you will be on Route 8/West Main Street. Continue on this street towards Christiansburg. You will go through one stop light and at the second stop light you will take a LEFT onto Depot Street.
You will follow Depot Street to the next light and you will continue straight through this light.
You will then travel about of a mile and you will see BETTY DRIVE on your LEFT. Take a LEFT onto Betty Drive and there will be parking attendants at the top of the hill.
From North I-81:
Take I-81 South towards Christiansburg
Take Exit 114 (Christiansburg, Route 8).
