CHESTERFIELD, VA --
At the Dominion District Meet, the Midlothian boys proved exactly why they are the #1 ranked
team in the state as they had a perfect sweep taking seven of the first eight spots to win
big with a team score of 15 points. The Trojans were led by senior Anthony D'Amato who looks
to be in prime contention to challenge for the Central Region title next week as he won the
boys race in a time of 16:13.98. The fast times didn't stop there for Midlothian as Jason Call
(2nd, 16:42.64), Ryan Witt (3rd, 16:48.33), Michael D'Amato (4th, 16:51.99), Joseph Johnson
(5th, 16:53.94), Andrew Baker (6th, 16:58.15), and Taylor Matthews (8th, 17:20.49) all had fine
showings for the most talented and deepest squad in state of Virginia.

James River took 2nd with 60 points as Tim Scott was able to break up a complete domination
of the Midlothian squad by taking 7th place with a time of 17:01.18 for James River.

Clover Hill finished 3rd with 75 points. Clover Hill junior Noah Eisenberg gutted it up for
the squad as he ran with a stress fracture in his ankle and took 15th place.

Rounding out the four squads which will be moving onto the Central Region Meet next week at
Pole Green Park is Manchester with 110 points.

The James River girls look to be in the driver's seat to win the Central Region title, especially
after their dominating performance at the Dominion District Meet. Six Lady Rapids earned all-district
honors to give the squad a score of 33 points. Kristin Coffield paced the squad, winning the
girls race in a time of 19:44.55. Finishing out for what looks to be a team that will
go far was Christy Ward (4th, 20:13.03), Rebecca Ward (4th, 20:17.20), Ritz Degrazia (11th, 20:55.75),
Kate McGee (11th, 20:57.75), and Callie Hopkins (14th, 21:06.93).

The Manchester girls also performed admirably, taking 2nd with 48 points. Mary Warman (2nd, 20:05.09),
Diana Allin (3rd, 20:07.68), and Katherine Shaffer (8th, 20:35.41) earned all-district honors
for Manchester. Joining James River and Manchester at the Central Region Meet will be Midlothian
(67 pts) and Clover Hill (111 pts).
