VHSL Group AA State Meet 2003

It could not have been any closer or any more exciting in the way the girls\' team title was decided at the Group AA State Indoor Track Meet. Going into the meet, it was pretty clear who would be the two major favorites going in. Heritage of Lynchburg with their great depth in the sprints and Western Albemarle, having the top distance crew in all of AA, were predicted to battle and war it was Friday at Virginia Tech\'s Rector Fieldhouse.

With an increase of teams and athletes now participating in indoor track at the AA level, the bar has been rising in substantial increments every year in terms of the quality of the fields that have been gathering for the Group AA State Indoor Track Meet. This year appears to be no different with some heated team battles to be waged as well as many record breaking performances to be expected in the 2003 edition.

The indoor track state meet for Group AA is scheduled for this Friday at Virginia Tech\'s Rector Fieldhouse. While a performance list has yet to be received from the Group AA state meet director, I had a lot of free time on my hands today while being snowed in and made a list of the top 10 AA performances this season to give AA coaches, athletes, parents, and fans a look at the top performers in each event thus far this season. Some events are less than 10 deep though because there have not been 10 AA performances that have met the MileStat.com elite standards.
