GROUP A BOYS AND GIRLS STATE TRACK MEET

Meet Regulations and Information

  • There will be no trials for the 200 m. dash. The 200 meter dash will be a final race only, with runners seeded by times, slow heat to fast heat.

  • No coaches or spectators will be allowed on the infield once the running trials start. There will be a tent located on the outside of the track near the fence which will house the Jury of Appeals and information personnel. Any questions or concerns need to be presented here first and the proper officials will be notified.

  • The awards tent will be on the outside of the track near the information tent. This will help eliminate traffic across the track and congestion at the officials tent.

  • The F.A.T. System and timing crew is off limits to all coaches. If there is a concern, go to the information tent and the proper official will be notified.

  • This meet will be conducted on a 400 Meter Track. The UVA Track has 9 Lanes.

    9:00 a.m. - Coaches Meeting - Boys 100 M Dash Finals
    9:15 a.m. - Certification of Implements - Girls 1600 M Run (Sec. On Time)
    9:45 a.m. - B Long Jump followed by Triple Jump - Boys 1600 M Run (Sec. On Time)
    G Long Jump followed by a G Triple Jump - Girls 400 M Relay (Sec. On Time)
    B Shot followed by G Shot - Boys 400 M Relay (Sec. On Time)
    G Discus followed by B Discus - Girls 400 M Dash (Sec. On Time)
    G High Jump followed by B High Jump - Boys 400 M Dash (Sec. On Time)
    - Girls 300 M Hurdles (Sec. On Time)
    11:45 p.m. - Girls 100 M High Hurdles Trials - Boys 300 M Hurdles (Sec. On Time)
    12:00 noon - Boys 110 M High Hurdle Trials - Girls 800 M Run (Sec. On Time)
    12:15 p.m. - Girls 100 M Dash Trials - Boys 800 M Run (Sec. On Time)
    12:25 p.m. - Boys 100 M Dash Trials - Girls 200 M Dash Finals
    12:30 p.m. - BREAK - Boys 200 M Dash Finals
    - Girls 100 M High Hurdles Finals - Girls 3200 M Run

    AWARDS may be picked up at any time after an athletes final race


    After the 12:30 p.m. break, the events will not be on a set time schedule. Athletes will need to report to the bullpen by second call.


    Note: If less than 28 competitors are entered in any seeded race (110 high hurdles, 100 hurdles girls, 100 meter dash) 3 heats will be run. Three (3) runners from each heat qualify to finals. If there are more than 27 runners in an event, there will be 4 heats with 2 from each heat qualifying to the finals. All other races, except the 3200 M run will be run in sections on time. All events after break are FINAL EVENTS.


    Entry Deadline: All schools should carefully check their entries and turn one copy into the regional meet director before leaving the meet - and keep one copy for their files. Entries must be submitted in metrics (not yards) ----( applies to running events.) All entries must be on enclosed entry sheets.


    Important: Confirmation of Entries - Read Carefully!! - Any known scratches in any running events must be made to your Regional Director by Monday, May 26. Running events scratches after this time will disqualify the participant from all running events. Only field events scratches will be permitted at the coaches meeting on Saturday, May 31.


    Important: Change from last year: General Rules of Field Events - National Federation Track and Field Rule Book - This rule will be followed at State Championships. A contestant shall be charged with an unsuccessful attempt if the contestant does not initiate a trial that is carried to completion, or pass it within 1 minute after being called for a trial, unless excused by the event judge to participate in some other event .


    Awards: Presentation of team trophies, 1st, 2nd and 3rd, at conclusion of the meet. Individual medals 1 - 8 will be presented to winners after each event at the awards tent as athletes are recognized. Coaches are responsible to see that winners (or the coach) get the athlete
