Parking: No on campus Parking. Coach, spectator and athlete parking is only availed at Minnie Howard campus across the street (Braddock Road) from Episcopal High School campus. Please remember that we are guest in their home (Episcopal High School).

Fieldhouse Opens: Thursday @ 6:00 p.m. (YOU MAY NOT ENTER THE FIELDHOUSE BEFORE 6:00

p.m. stay on your bus until the fieldhouse opens) and Saturday @ 7:00 a.m.

ENTRIES: Each school may enter three (3) individuals in each event. If more than three (3) are entered, all entrants must have met the VHSL Group 6 GUNSTON DISTRICT standard during the current indoor season in a VHSL sanctioned meet.

ENTRY DEADLINE: Entries must be submitted to www.Milestat.com by 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2019.

ADVANCING FROM VHSL Group 6 Gunston District will advance the top 6 individuals and the top 3 CONFRENCE MEET: relay teams automatically plus any athletes or relay teams meeting the VHSL Group 6 (C) Occoquan Region Standards.

REGION ENTRY Coaches are to enter athletes advancing to the VHSL Group 6 (C) Occoquan Region by PREFORMANCE: virtue of their Conference meets performance with the athletes best legitimate performance

of the season for seeding purposes. Athletes advancing to the VHSL Group 6 (C) Occoquan Region by virtue of a qualifying mark must submit a proof of performance (POP) form (see VHSL website at https://www.vhsl.org/indoor-track/ for entry forms) or the performance must be posted on www.Milestat.com in order to be used to enter the VHSL Group 6 (C) Occoquan Region meets.

SCRATCH MEETING: There will be a coachs scratch meeting on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Rotunda room at T. C. Williams. Enter T. C. Williams thru door #14 on the Chinquapin Park side of the building. Coaches please plan on providing student help for the meet. Workers are needed at each field event, hurdle set up and field house clean-up.

REPORTING In events run in heats or sections, all participating must report to the clerk of the course at the

RULES: The 2018 National Federation Rule Book, the 2018-19 edition of the Virginia High School League Handbook and the VHSL Group 6 (C) Occoquan Region rule book

EQUIPMENT: Each school will furnish its own baton, indoor shot and vaulting pole. Blocks will be supplied for races below 400m run completely in lanes. 1/4 spikes (7mm) or less are premitted Note: pyramid or needle shaped spikes are not permitted.

MEET VHSL Rules 84-4-3 Individual Participation-In one meet a contestant may compete in any number of field events but shall be limited to participation in only three running events, except thata contestant who competes in the 3200 meter run may compete in only one other running event. No individual contestant may compete in more than one meet in any one day. In any meet contested over two days, a contestant competing in the 3200 meter run may compete in two additional running events as long as only one of the two is contested on the same day as the 3200 meter run.

Declaration Rule- All individuals declared for participation at the deadline set by the state meet director in consultation with the VHSL office will have those events count toward their participation limit as specified in this rule whether they compete in them or not. If an athlete is declared in more than the allowable number, the meet director has the authority to remove the athlete from the last event declared according to the meet schedule. If an athlete at the district, region or state meet is excused from an event by a certified athletic trainer or a physician appointed by the games committee, that athlete will be eligible for any and all other events entered unless the certified athletic trainer or physician determines that the athlete's health would be in danger with any further participation.

DELAY of EVENTS: No event in the meet is to be held up because a participant is engaged in another event. If a contestant is entered in a field event which conflicts in the time schedule with a track event in which he is entered, he will make advance arrangements with the official in charge of the field event to postpone his attempt in the trials until after the track event has been run. No track event will be held up to accommodate a contestant likewise competing in a field event.

84-4-4 School Participation- A school may enter as many athletes in any individual event of a district, regional or state track meet as have met the qualifying standards for that meet. In state events of 200 meters or less, including hurdles, hand held qualifying times will be converted for seeding purposes.

TRACK: 3-Lane 200m Chem-turn track. . 1/4 spikes (7mm) or less are premitted Note: pyramid or needle shaped spikes are not permitted.

DISQUALIFICATION: A competitor may be disqualified from an event if the coach, manager, attendant, or anyone associated with the competitor's team is on the infield of the track or those areas designated only for officials and contestants actually participating or preparing for a subsequent event.

SHOT PUT: All shots will be weighed and certified by the Head Field Judge. Finals Four (4) throws

provided there is a legal performance in the one of the first 3 attempts.

LONG & Finals Four (4) jumps provided there is a legal performance in the one of the first 3 attempts.

TRIPLE JUMP:

HIGH JUMP & Starting height will be determined after coaches' scratch meeting by the Games Committee.

POLE VAULT: Participants in the High Jump and Pole Vault athletes must report to their event with their competition numbers but may elect to not wear their numbers when competition begins.

UNIFORMS: Participants will be required to wear team uniforms while competing. Meet numbers will be issued to each school and are required to be worn before being permitted to compete.

In relay events each team member will wear the same color school uniform (jersey & short). When other apparel is worn under the jersey by more than one team member that apparel must be identical in color and unadorned if worn below the knees.

HEAT LEADERS: These will be determined by the meet director after he receives the entry lists. The meet director will set up the heats by rule. The Trials and finals will be set up according to the place and times run in the trials. In lane events, participants must return to the finish line and remain in their respective lanes until the judges have reached their decision as to the places.

PRESENTATION Each teams is to pick up all medals after final meet results are announced.

OF AWARDS: The team trophies and patches will be presented at the conclusion of the meet.

CONCESSIONS: FOOD OR DRINK IS NOT ALLOWED ON THE TRACK AREA or INFIELD.
