HIGHLANDER RELAYS 2019 - September 4th
Meet Information and Online Registration
The Highlanders Relays will be held on the campus of Radford University on the lower fields of the sports complex at the Dedmon Center. The event will consist of four races (two boys and two girls). We will have a high school relay as well as a middle school relay for both boys and girls. Each team will be comprised of 5 runners each completing a 1000m leg.
The date for this year's event falls mid-week on Wednesday 4th September 2019, a few days before the Knights Crossing Invitational on the 7th September. We have designed the course layout and event structure as a 'tune-up' for Knights Crossing and we also encourage you to incorporate the relays as part of your workout for that week.
The schedule for the 2019 Highlander Relays is as follows:
5:30pm - Girls Middle School 5 x 1000m Relay
6:15pm - Boys Middle School 5 x 1000m Relay
7:00pm - Girls High School 5 x 1000m Relay
7:35pm - Boys High School 5 x 1000m Relay
8:05pm - Awards Presentation
Entry fees for the 2019 Highlander Relays are as follows:
$30.00 - per complete relay team (both Middle and High School)
$8.00 - per individual (if less than 5 runners in team)
Maximum per school - $200.00
Deadline for entries is Monday 2nd September at 5pm ET. Payment will be via check and payable to 'Radford Athletics'. Checks are to be collected on the day of competition on September 4th.
The Course
The course for the 2019 Highlander Relays is predominantly grass with small sections of gravel path. There is a small incline and decline which each runner will complete. The course is located on the north-east side of campus within the Radford sporting complex adjacent to the Dedmon Center.
Packet Pick-up
Packets can be collected on the day of the race from 3:45pm onwards.
Awards
Awards will be presented to top 2 teams in both the boys and girls High School Relays along with the winners from the Middle School Relay. Awards will also be presented for the fastest legs from the boys and girls relays in both the Middle and High School races.
Results
Results will be posted on the board by the finish line and sent to milestat.com for publication.
