GHS Invitational Meet
Thanks for entering our Meet. We have planned a Meet that will benefit each of your athletes.
Buses are to enter toward our stadium and drop off your teams. Buses do NOT drive behind our stadium. Please tell your parents to use the student parking lot.
Team packets may be picked up at the Sidewalk areas upon entering the stadium. Please look over the entries. Scratches will take place after the Coaches Meeting at 2:00 p.m.
Make sure your team police their areas, take care of their personal items and keep the bathrooms clean.
The GCPS is Not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Warm-up area is on the practice Football/Soccer practice field once the FINALS in ALL Running Events begin. Hurdles will be in that area. Do NOT remove them.
CLERKING will be located behind the scoreboard. Coaches remind your athletes to come RACE ready.
Use chalk or tennis balls(will be provided)on the track or runways.DO NOT REMOVE HURDLES from the track.
Warm-up on the Visitors side ONLY prior to the start of the Meet.
Standards: Field Events (3) Throws or Jumps FINALS
- Top Flights will go FIRST (3) Throws or Jump followed by FINALS
- Next Flights will go (3) Throws or Jumps. They will get (3) more ONLY if they would have Qualified for the FINALS in the TOP FLIGHT.
Athletic Trainer:located Outside the gate near the FINISH LINE. Please bring your OWN tape and pre-wrap.
1/8" Spikes(HEX or PYRAMID)can be used ONLY. Spikes will be checked by ALL athletes before competing. We will have some for SALE.
Results will be "Live" on Milestat.com.
Awards will be presented by the Winning Coach after each event has been Finalized. Awards go to the 1st -3rd places Individuals and 1st place Relays only.
Concessions and Kona Ice will be available. Coaches if you need to stop for food call to let the venues know so you can get in and out at the end of our Meet.
T-Shirts will be on sale by MSP.
Hospitality will be available for coaches, officials and volunteers.

8 Lane track - 48" - 1/8" ( HEX or PYRAMID)SPIKES ONLY

1 Discus Cage (CONCRETE ENCLOSED)

VHSL: Sanctioned including BORDER states.NC, DC, MD
1. Athletes CANNOT compete in both Varsity(9-12 Grades)and Jayvee ( 8, 9, & 10 Grades)events. Coaches please DO NOT put a Jayvee athlete in a Jayvee race if they are running consistently in your Varsity races.
2. Starting block will be provided if needed.
3. Concessions will be available.
4. Results will be posted LIVE once the events have been FINALIZED.
5. If you do the 4x400 Mixed relay it counts as 1 of your 3 allowed.
6. We could use BOTH sides of the track for 100/110m HURDLES.
7. ONLY 1/8" (PYRAMID) SPIKES allowed. SPIKES will be checked before entering the track.
TEAM AWARDS: 1ST PLACE & 2ND PLACE
NO SCORING FOR JAYVEE RACES
AWARDS: 1ST, 2ND, & 3RD place INDIVIDUAL and RELAY TEAM WINNER ONLY.
AWARDS will be presented once each individual and relay team events has been POSTED LIVE and FINALIZED by the winning events COACH'S.
WEIGHT-MEN'S RELAY: SHOT PUT AND DISCUS THROWERS ONLY
ADMISSIONS: $5 PER PERSON OR $20 PER FAMILY
MARKS:(3)PER PERSON SHOT PUT, DISCUS, LONG JUMP & TRIPLE JUMP.
Standards and Starting heights could be set depending on the number of entries. Please give each athlete a mark or time and be considerate to give everyone a fair chance to compete at their level.
ENTRIES:(6) PER EVENT AND (2) RELAY team - VARSITY RACES
JAYVEE RACES( 8, 9 & 10 Grades) 100m dash, 200m dash, 400m dash, 1600m run, 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay, 4x400m relay.(4) PER INDIVIDUAL (2) PER RELAY.
DEADLINE: Entries are due online to www.milestat.com by Wednesday, April 15, 2020 @ 11:59 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS!
SCRATCHES: will be done at the meet after coaches meeting.
ALL athletes must have a TIME or MARK ENTERED. PLEASE be fair to give all athletes equal opportunity to compete at his or her level.

Unless the meet is CANCELLED everyone is expected to PAY for participating by Wednesday, April 15th. If we DO NO receive your money we need an email from your AD or BOOKKEEPER saying money is coming.
