Meet Information

VHSL Class 2 - Region A Championship

Directions: From Interstate 64, take Exit 238 (Camp Perry), Turn Right onto Rochambeau Dr. Turn Left into Bruton High School in approximately 1.5 miles.  

Bus Parking: Buses will be parking in the grass practice fields behind the school.  As buses enter the Bruton campus, they can stay to the right and drive on the gravel service road toward the tennis courts, before the tennis courts, make a left turn onto the grass practice fields. We will have volunteers assisting with parking. 

Spectator Parking: All spectators may use the Bruton parking lot, however, Bruton will be in school until 2:05, parking close to the stadium may be limited until about 2:30.  All spectators will need to enter on the far side of the high school, near the stadium.  As you enter the campus, stay to your left and park in the parking lot area.  To enter the stadium, walk around the front of the building until you see the stadium entrance. 

Team Tents:  Please NO tents in the stadium bleachers.  Tents can be setup inside the softball field area.

Course Opens: 2:30pm

Coaches Meeting (near the stadium press box): 3:00pm

Girls Race: 3:30pm

Boys Race: 4:15pm

Entry Deadline / Limits: Registration closes on Nov. 3rd.  You may register 10 runners but only 7 can run in the race. School issued uniform tops must be worn. 

Timing / Bibs: Team packets can be picked up at the registration table as you enter the stadium.  Packets will include bibs, pins, course map, and State meet information.  We will be using chip timing. The chips will be attached to the bib. 

Awards: Award ceremony will take place at mid-field / center track, following the boys race.  Regional Championship trophy for 1st place Girls and Boys team.  All-Region medals for the Top 10 finishers in boys and girls. 

Concession Stand: The concession stand will be open, offering small snacks and drinks.

T-shirts: Colonial Sports will be selling Region 2A Championship T-shirts on-site.

State Qualifying: Top 3 teams (boys & girls) qualify for the State Meet.  Top 5 individuals NOT on the top teams will qualify as individuals for the State Meet. Coaches must submit their official State entry form to the Regional Director before leaving the Regional Meet. The 2019 2A State Meet will be held on Saturday November 16th at Green Hill Park, Salem, VA.  Girls 10:30am, Boys 11:15am.

Course: Spectators can view the start, middle and finish from the stadium bleachers. A copy of the course map will also be included in the team packets. The course is mostly track, gravel road with some grass areas. Spikes can be worn but are not necessary.  We will start in the middle of the stadium field and finish on the track.  The 1 mile and 2 mile mark are back the gravel road. Course marshals will be placed throughout the course as well as an athletic trainer to assist with any injuries.
