2020 BATTLEFIELD DISTRICT OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

I. DATE: Wednesday, February 5. 2020. If inclement weather threatens, we will move to a rolling schedule. Make up date TBD

II. SITE: King George Middle School: (8246 Dahlgren Rd, King George) 400 Meter, 8 lane, all-weather track.

Concrete shot throwing area.

All-weather surfaces on LJ/TJ , PV runways and HJ surface.

Only spikes 1/4 or less and flats may be used on the all-weather surfaces. Locker rooms are not available. Athletes should come dressed to run. Restrooms will be available

III. ADMISSION: $6.00. VHSL and District passes will be accepted. Entrance at front gate near New part of Middle School.

Athletes will be admitted free at the entrance to the stadium.

IV. EQUIPMENT: Meet management will furnish starting blocks. All other equipment, team or personal must be furnished by the competing schools. UNIFORM RULES MAY BE FLEXED based on weather conditions. Please handle athletic training needs such as taping at your school. There will be a certified trainer on hand for first aid and emergencies.

V. RULES: 2019 EDITION OF NATIONAL FEDERATION OF STATE HIGH SCHOOLS TRACK & FIELD RULES AND VHSL RULES APPLY.

VI. SCORING: 10 - 8 - 6 - 4 - 2 - 1

VII. AWARDS: Team 1st Place Trophy. Top 3 medal per event.

VIII. ENTRY EACH SCHOOL CAN ENTER FOUR (4) ATHLETES PER EVENT LIMITATIONS ONE RELAY TEAM PER SCHOOL PER EVENT.

IX. ENTRY FORMS: OFFICIAL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE VIA THE MILESTAT ENTRY

DEADLINE: NO LATER THAN 10:00 PM, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2020.

X. DECLARATION RULE: All entries at the deadline will be confirmed as entered and will count against the athletes maximum allowable events.

XI. RELAY DECLARATION: Relay teams will be declared on a relay card provided at the meet at the time of event check-in.

Eight (8) athletes may be listed any four (4) of whom may run. The relay will count as an event only for those four (4) athletes who actually compete. ALL RELAY RUNNERS AND ALTERNATES MUST BE LISTED ON YOUR ON-LINE ENTRY. Note that the only way to enter an athlete who is only going to be used as a relay runner is to list them in one of the 8 slots allowed for each relay. DO NOT ENTER MORE THAN EIGHT (8) NAMES FOR ANY ONE RELAY.

XII. WEIGH-IN: The Shot-Put implements will be weighed in at a table near the finish line beginning 45 minutes prior to  Competition. Girls & Boys Pole Vault weigh-in/certifications will take place at the pole vault area. All implements not meeting specifications will be impounded until the end of the meet. Only those implements properly inspected and so marked may be used at the meet. Please pick up all impounded equipment after the field events are over.

XIII. STARTING HTS: Will be determined by the games committee and announced at the coaches meeting

& PROGRESSIONS

XIV. Miscellaneous: NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE COMPETITION AREA. THE

COMPETITION AREA IS ANYTHING INSIDE THE FENCE SURROUNDING THE TRACK AND

THROWING AREA, OR IN THE LONG/TRIPLE JUMP AREA/SURFACES.

XVI. PARKING: Buses should not arrive on site before 2:45. Busses may unload at the front of the track stadium area in the new bus loop near the middle school front entrance and then must be moved to the high school bus loop Attendants will guide drivers to the parking area if necessary.

XVII. ENTRY REMINDERS! :

1. ALL DISTRICT ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE THROUGH MILESTAT. WWW.MILESTAT.COM

2. YOU MAY EDIT YOUR ON-LINE ENTRIES AT ANY TIME PRIOR TO 10:00 PM ON SATURDAY FEB 1. AT THAT TIME ALL ON-LINE ENTRIES WILL BE CONSIDERED FINAL AND DECLARED AND WILL COUNT AGAINST THE ATHLETES MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE EVENTS.

3. ALL ATHLETES INCLUDING ANY POSSIBLE RELAY ALTERNATES MUST BE ENTERED ON-LINE. DO NOT ENTER MORE THAN EIGHT (8) ATHLETES FOR ANY ONE RELAY ON THE MILESTAT ENTRY PLEASE USE THESE SLOTS TO ENTER ALL ATHLETES WHO MAY BE USED ON ANY OF YOUR RELAY TEAMS AND ARE NOT ENTERED IN ANY INDIVIDUAL EVENT AT THE MEET. YOU WILL BE ALLOWED TO USE ANY ATHLETE ENTERED IN ANY EVENT ON YOUR ON-LINE ENTRY ROSTER ON YOUR RELAY TEAMS SO LONG AS IT DOES NOT PUT THEM OVER THE NUMBER OF ALLOWABLE RUNNING EVENTS.

XVIII. PROPOSED TIME SCHEDULE

Note we may roll ahead slightly, but because this is a championship meet, we do want to ensure that athletes have proper recovery between events and planning time for their events.
