Meet Information
This meet is restricted to Shenandoah District and Augusta County schools. The meet will follow the standard order of events as the State Meet.
Spectators must be masked and maintain social distancing. Athletes will wait for events in 'warmup area,' buses, and/or cars.
The Fort Defiance Polar Bear Meet will begin at 12:00 p.m. Teams can start to arrive at 11:00 a.m. and will be asked to drop athletes in the main parking lot near the south entrance to the stadium.
There will be a coaches meeting at 11:30 a.m. to discuss regulations and protocols.
ONLY coaches, meet helpers, and athletes in competition will be allowed inside the fence that surrounds the track. NO ONE is to be on the field. The stadium parking lot will cleared of vehicles and will be the 'warmup area.'
The meet schedule will be as follows:
Field Events begin at 12:00 p.m.
Boys Long Jump followed by Girls Long Jump: Each athlete will get a total of 4 jumps with no finals. Girls High Jump followed by Boys High Jump: Opening height 3-10 for girls and 4-10 for boys. Girls Shot Put followed by Boys Shot Put: Each thrower will receive 4 throws and there are no finals. Boys Triple Jump will follow Girls Long Jump: Each athlete will get a total of 4 jumps with no finals.
Track Events will start at 1:00 p.m. and each event will start immediately after the previous event ends. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd calls will be made.
*NOTE: Some relays and the 3200 may be combined depending on numbers of entries.
