Meet Information
Polar Bear meets return to Fort Defiance High School! Since 2004 FDHS has offered polar bear meets to teams wishing to get more opportunities during the indoor track season for their athletes.
This year the meets are limited to schools in the counties of Augusta and Rockingham and the cities therein.
The first meet is December 2, 2021. We will start as close to 4:30 as possible. Nobody is allowed on the infield. The parking lot will be closed to traffic and will be the area for teams to set up camp and also warmup.
There are 4 entries per event. The JV division is open to 8th and 9th graders ONLY. 9th grade athletes must participate as varsity OR JV, they may not be entered in both.
Entries will close on November 29 at 7:00 p.m.! Teams are limited to 4 entries per event.
As usual, these meets are a 'community' effort and coaches will be asked to help in conducting events.
The schedule will be as follows:
Field Events:
Women's long jump followed by Men's Long Jump, then Women's Triple jump and Men's Triple Jump
Men's High Jump followed by Women's High Jump
Women's Shot Put followed by Men's Shotput
Running Events: women followed by men
