New River Invitational- SCHEDULE CHANGE  -- Monday, May 9th.  START TIME 3:00

Each school will be limited to 3 athletes in each individual event and 1 relay team.  Schools will be allowed to enter additional athletes in individual events for $10 per event. To have these additional athletes added, please e-mail athlete names and

times/marks to Shane Dalton at

 VHSL rules regarding event limitations will apply.

 Entry Deadline: Entry must be submitted on MileStat by Monday, May 2, 2022 at 6:00 pm. No substitutions are allowed in individual events, but are in relays. 

Entry Fee: $175.00 per school. For schools bringing just a few individuals, the cost is $10 per athlete. 7 or more

athletes are considered a team.

Scoring: 10-8-6-4-2-1

Awards: Top 4 in individual events will receive a medal.  Top 3 teams in relays will receive a medal.  Team trophies for best boys and girls team will be awarded.

Timing: Lynx

Field Events: Each participant will be given 3 jumps. Shot and Discus will be in flights. If you make the top 7 in throws or jumps, you will make the finals.  All first attempts will be marked.  All other attempts will be marked only if they meet the minimum distances. Standards will be sent to the coaches after entries are in and evaluated. Starting height for high jump will be determined based on the entries that we get in.   We will let you know what the starting height is at the coaches meeting.

Facilities: 6 lane rubberized track, all jumps facilities are rubberized.

Scratches: Known scratches for all running events must be received by May 4 (Wednesday) at 8:00 P.M. Scratches can be e-mailed to Verena Riley at vriley@gilesk12.net or Shane Dalton at kdalton@gilesk12.net.  Field event scratches can be made at the coaches meeting the day of the meet.

Concessions: Concession stand will be available.

Admission: $5.00 per person.

2:00 pm buses allowed to park

3:00 pm start Field Events

        ** We will also start the girls 3200 meter run at 3:00, followed by the boys 3200 meter run

            Girls 4 x 800 relay followed by Boys 4 x 800 relay will be ran after the 3200 run.

Additional running events will begin at approximately 5:00.  Rolling Schedule

NOTES:

Heats will be seeded and ran slowest to fastest.

Team camps will be set up in the bleachers on the home side (OPPOSITE OF PRESS BOX) of the stadium.
The Press Box side will be for spectators.
Warm up areas will be behind the team camp bleachers and athletes are only allowed on the football field after their event has been called.
Athletes and coaches can only enter the track at the gate near the team camp bleachers.
