Final Results
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Junior Josef Tessema (Springfield, Va.) paced the Norfolk State men's cross country to an 18th-place finish out of 35 teams on Saturday morning at the 2009 NCAA Southeast Region Cross Country Championship, hosted by the University of Louisville.
Tessema came in 60th place out of 231 runners on the 10,000-meter (6.25 mile) course. He ran a time of 32 minutes, 13.42 seconds. Sophomore Amos Kipkosgei (Eldoret, Kenya) was right behind, finishing 61st in 32:14.60. Philemon Kimutai (Eldoret, Kenya) was 78th overall, Vincent Rono (Bomet, Kenya) was 132nd and Jonathan Soimo (Kapsabet, Kenya) placed 191st to round out NSU's top five.
William & Mary won the regional, followed by N.C. State, Louisville, Duke and Virginia.
