BLACKSBURG, Va.
– A new school record in the 200m dash from junior Raschad Kelso (Appomattox, Va./Appomattox) highlighted the competition for the Radford track and field team at the Virginia Tech Invitational at Rector Field House over the weekend.

Kelso's time of 21.75 landed him in fourth place and broke his previous school record of 22.02 which he set a year ago on this same track at the Hokie Invitational.

Kelso's running mate in the 200m, Olajuwon Jones (Indianapolis, In./Speedway) posted a season-best time of 22.35, good for sixth in the competition.

A trio of Highlander quarter-milers each clocked in at season-bests time as well. Freshman Austin Cuffee (Hampton, Va./Bethel) placed ninth with a time of 50.32, while senior Jordan Wynder (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) was nipping at his heals with a time of 50.32, which was good for a tenth place finish. Sophomore Brett Olinger (Timberville, Va./Broadway) finished 11th with a time of 50.38.

In the throws competition, senior Kyle Morse (Hingham, Mass./Northfield-Mount Herman) reached a distance of 18.74m (61'5”) to finish third in the weight throw behind Alex Padgett and Zach Berg of Clemson.

The Highlanders will be back at Rector Field House next weekend for the Hokie Invitational.
