BLACKSBURG, Va. – Season bests by seven different Highlanders and a NCAA Provisional mark highlighted day two of competition for the Radford track and field team at the Hokie Invitational at Rector Field House on Saturday.
Freshman
Austin Cuffee (Hampton, Va./Bethel) recorded a season-best in the 200m with a time of 22.21, while senior
Jordan Wynder also posted a season-best with a time of 23.06.
In the 400m, three Highlanders clocked in with their top times of the year.
Olajuwon Jones (Indianapolis, In./Speedway) crossed the finish line with a time of 48.57, good for fifth place in the competition.
Raschad Kelso (Appomattox, Va./Appomattox) wasn't far behind Jones with a time of 48.65 to finish sixth. Sophomore
Brett Olinger (Timberville, Va./Broadway) posted a season-best time of 50.19, which is 19 tenths of a second better than his previous mark.
The 4x400 relay also notched a season-best time of 3:17.13, which placed them eighth in the competition.
In the field events, senior
Kyle Morse (Hingham, Mass. /Northfield-Mount Herman) recorded an indoor season-best and a NCAA provisional with a distance of 19.7m (64'10”) in the weight.
Kevin Richards (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) leap of 5.74m (18'10”) in the long jump gave him a season-best in the event.
The Highlanders will be back on the track Jan. 29 for the Liberty Open.
