BLACKSBURG, Va. – A new school record in the 60m hurdles from junior
Bryan Wallace (Milers Tavern, Va./Essex) highlighted day one of competition for the Radford track and field team at the Hokie Invitational at Rector Field House on Friday.
Wallace's time of 8.39 landed him in tenth place and broke his previous school record of 8.45, which he set at the Big South Indoor Championships last year.
Freshmen
Anthony Carlie (Swainsboro, Ga./Prince George) and
Kaise White (Houston, Texas/ Freedom) each posted a season-best time in the 60m. Carlie's time of 7.21 was good for 24th, while White's time of 7.28 was good for 28th in the competition.
In the throws competition, senior
Kyle Morse (Hingham, Mass./Northfield-Mount Herman) recorded an indoor season-best heave of 19.7m (64'10”) to finish fifth in the weight, while his throwing counterpart
Matt Dobson (Centreville, Va./Chantilly) also had a season- best distance of 18.52m (60'9”) to finish ninth.
The Highlanders will be back on the track Jan. 29 for the Liberty Open.
