NEW YORK, N.Y. – Senior
Kyle Morse (Hingham, Mass./Northfield-Mount Herman) and the 4x400 relay team highlighted the competition for the Radford men's track and field team at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational over the weekend.
The quartet of
Olajuwon Jones (Indianapolis, In./Speedway),
Raschad Kelso (Appomattox, Va./Appomattox),
Austin Cuffee (Hampton, Va./Bethel) and
Brett Olinger (Timberville, Va./Broadway) placed third with a time of 3:16.83, which is second fastest in the Big South just ticks behind Charleston Southern.
Morse notched another NCAA provisional mark with a season-best distance of 19.97m (65'6”) in the weight throw. Also in the weight throw competition,
Matt Dobson (Centreville, Va./Chantilly) placed ninth with a toss of 17.71m (58'1").
Cuffee and Olinger each eclipsed their seasons-best times in the 400m. Olinger placed 34th with a time of 49.97, while Cuffee placed 30th with a 49.82.
The Highlanders will be back on the track next weekend at the Akron Invitational.
