NEW YORK, N.Y.
– Senior Lori Crotts' (New Castle, Va./Craig County) new 3,000m school record highlighted competition for the Radford women's track and field team at this weekend's New Balance Collegiate Invitational.

Crotts crossed the finish line in fourth place with a time of 9:58.62 and bested a ten-year-old school mark (Kara Price, 2001-10:12.63). Her time is the second fastest 3,000m this season in the Big South.

On the field, sophomore Aimee Veatch (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) finished third with a distance of 18.26m (59'11). It is the top throw this season among Big South performers by two feet.

Elsewhere in the field events, freshman Elaine Derricott (Richmond, Va./Henrico) recorded personal bests in the triple jump (11.60m/38'0.75”) and long jump (5.70m/18'8.50”). Derricott's jumping partner, Jasia Richardson (Richmond, Va./J.R. Tucker) also tallied a season-best in the long jump with a leap of 5.25m (17'2.75”).

The Highlanders will be back on the track next weekend at the Akron Invitational.
