Day One Results
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Aimee Veatch (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) of the Radford women's track and field team set a new school record in the hammer throw and captured her second straight outdoor title on day one of the 2010 Big South Championships at Bagwell/Settles Track and Field Stadium.
Veatch's throw of 58.01m (190'6”) topped the next closest competitor by 18-feet and bettered Tiffany Evan's (57.73m) previous school mark, which stood for three years.
Also highlighting competition was
Lori Crotts (New Castle, Va./Craig County), who ran a personal-best time of 38:29.31 in the 10,000m to finish fourth.
The Highlanders finished day one of competition in fourth place with 19 points.
The second day of competition will begin tomorrow morning at 11 a.m.
