Outside of the team competitions we are going to see as many as 48 individual state champions crowned and a total of 60 championship races or events. Out of these 60 events, here are 10 to keep an eye on and get excited for:
The 6A Boys 55m Dash

This race, as we mentioned above, is going to be the closest battle of elite talent in any state meet this year. Seeded first is Noah Lyles, a junior from T.C. Williams, at a US #2 6.28. Seeded second is Grant Holloway, a junior from Grassfield, at a US #4 6.30, and seeded third also at 6.30 is Josephus Lyles, a junior from T.C. Williams. This race will be a photo finish and could see a state record in the process… and of course will all but likely be a US #1 performance too. What is great about this race is the fact that the whole facility will be quiet for the start and it is so short that no one can make a single mistake and still have a dream of winning.
