Cave Spring Head Coach and Meet Director Tommy Maguire is hyped for the 12th Annual Knight's Crossing! He said, "We are very excited about this year's invitational. We're expecting over 1800 runners to compete in 9 races. We have three teams coming from Tennessee (Morristown-West, Cherokee, & University School of Johnson City), two from West Virginia (Greenbrier East & Hurricane), two from North Carolina (Broughton & Watauga) and one from Georgia (Milton). We also have several teams making the trip from Richmond and Northern Virginia. Almost every school from southwestern Virginia will be represented."

On the girls' team side, EC Glass and Morristown-West come in as prerace favorites for the title with just 10 points separating them. However Blacksburg hasn't competed at 100% effort this season and will be racing to defend their title. For the boys, it looks like it may turn into a two-team contest between out-of-state harriers from Broughton, the defending champs, and Milton.
