And then there were only four. Heather Holt is on a mission this year and through the fifth week of the season is one of the four remaining unbeaten athletes in VA (by VA athletes). She will face at least one of these girls this weekend and definitely have her toughest competition of the year with Kate Murphy opening up this weekend.
Heather is having a historic season and it seems the change in her training and meet build up is paying off early and a lot. This could be a huge step for her as she quickly gains national attention thanks to her US #3 time of 16:56. That time was the fastest time ever run in the month of September for VA.
Though she is definitely strong on the hills, as was evidenced by her strong win at Oatlands. She is also a speed demon and loves running anything from a 500 to the 5K. That versatility will give her the essential tools to run a very fast time this weekend but also to battle it out with Kate Murphy and the rest of the Great American stacked field.
