VHSL Group 4A Boys Champions
Loudoun Valley Vikings - 58.5 Points
Last year the ended just shy of winning the title but this year they did just enough to leave Harrisonburg with that coveted state championship trophy. It was very fitting in fact that they did it almost the same way LCA did it last year to beat them.
In the final event, the 4x4, they had to take care of business more than ever before. The quartet of Hunt, Simms, Franco, and Gallagher needed to score at least two points in the event despite being seeded 15th in the event. They did just what they needed and then some by finishing fourth from the first of three sections to score five points.
Elsewhere they tallied up 41 points or 70% of their points in the distance events. 22 of those points came from Colton Bogucki who was their points leader.
The most impressive individual performance though from the meet was definitely Jordan Willis of Jamestown who scored a staggering 40 points by winning the 200, 400, 4x1, and long jump.
