Co-#1\'s Lake Braddock and Oakton girls to square off at Glory Days

MANASSAS, VA -- Many of the state\'s best teams will be gathering to compete at Saturday\'s Glory Days Grill Invitational held at Bull Run Regional Park in Manassas. The greatest excitement for Saturday\'s matchup is generated from what will be the first encounter of the Lake Braddock and Oakton girls, who currently share the #1 ranking in the state of Virginia. This will be the first of several clashes between these two teams as they will certainly face off in regional and state competition in coming weeks.

Individually in the girls\' race, Hayfield senior Melissa Dewey will be the favorite as she is coming off an impressive victory at the William & Mary Invitational that elevated her to a #1 ranking in the state.

Fauquier senior Sarah Bowman is slated to run with her team entered as Bowman is currently ranked #5 in the state. Bowman made her season debut in invitational competition last weekend at Great American.

Six of the top ten ranked boys\' teams in the state will be racing at Glorys. Saturday will be the first time that the Northern Region\'s four best teams currently will race against one another at the same time with #3 state ranked Thomas Jefferson, #4 ranked Oakton, #8 ranked Herndon, and #10 ranked Lake Braddock scheduled to compete.

Glory Days will also be a battleground for bragging rights among two of AA\'s top teams in #1 AA ranked Brentsville and #2 AA ranked Potomac Falls. Saturday will be the first time these two teams have met this fall.

Chantilly\'s Brad Siragusa will look to continue his supremacy this season in the Northern Region, but he should get plenty of competition from out of area competitors from Maryland and other parts of the state.

The meet also is drawing several strong teams across the Potomac from Maryland such C. Milton Wright, Gaithersburg, and Elizabeth Seton that should have teams and individuals be a factor in Saturday\'s races.
