"QUEEN TRACK CLASSIC"

The Queen Track Classic was birthed from the mind and passions of professional track athlete and Olympian Queen Harrison. As an avid believer in the positive impact sport can have on physical, social and mental health of individuals specifically young woman, Queen began the strategizing and planning for a track meet in her hometown. Queen's vision in life and in the event has been to use her platform to provide positive images to young woman, showing that through hard work, dedication and a competitive spirit, we can achieve all we desire in life and sports. Thus, the Queen Track Classic was born.

The Queen Track Classic (referred to as "QTC" forwardly) is a high school, all-female participated track meet that will be held at the Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, VA on June 10, 2017. A first of its kind, the track meet is strategically placed directly AFTER the VHSL Track & Field State Championships and BEFORE New Balance National Championships giving the female athletes opportunity to finish their seasons or prepare for the national championships amongst the best competition the state has to offer.

While the co-ed system of track and field has many advantages, the QTC's all female participant list will be a unique talent showcase for the competitors and show younger generations the future that sports has the potential to provide you, specifically because of the international success our host, Queen Harrison, has had in the sport. Local youth clubs, elementary school students and the Girls On The Run organization will also be in attendance to do a "fun run" before the competition starts as a means of spectator participation and "passing the baton" down even further to younger generations of girls.

The QTC event looks to be a fun-filled day event for the entire family to attend, boasting not only elite high school athletes but music, vending and other attractions.
