Welcome to the Nike Boo Williams Indoor Nationals (NBWIN). This isthe first Indoor Nationals of this type held at these facilities. We are looking forward to having some of the top athletes in the USA compete. Our meet Will be focusing in getting the top performers, future athletes and making sure the venue allows coaches the ability to focus on their athletes.

MEET INFORMATION

Eligibility

Full-time students in grades 7-8 (SUB-VARSITY) and those athletes in grades 9-12 who are eligible for their high school team (and/or any high school athlete) born September 1,1998 or later, and who have met the entry guidelines are eligible to compete. Home-schooled athlete who have met the age and entry requirements are eligible to compete. Anyonewho graduated from high school last year or those in their 5th or later year from ninth grade are ineligible.

USATF MEMBERSHIP

  • USATF membership is required and you may purchase a card ONLY ONLINE at www.usatf.org

  • USATF MEMBERSHIP card registration will NOT be purchased at the NBWIN.

Competition Details

  • USATF rules will be used for ALL events.

Lane Preference

  • 200, 400, 4x200, 4 x 400, Sprint Medley Relay - 5, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1

  • 800, mile, 2 miles, 4x800, 4 x mile, Distance Medley Relay - Random position

Starting Blocks

  • USATF rules for distances of 400m or less.

ORDER OF FIELD EVENTS AND SEEDED FINALS

Field Events

  • Flight assignment by performance list: best flight last, random within the flights

Track Events

  • 800m, Mile, 2 Mile, Relays

  • Heat assignment by performance list with fastest heat running last.

Hurdles

  • The girls hurdles 33 inches and the boys hurdles 39 inches.

  • Shuttle Hurdle Relay (4 x 55m Hurdles) - 5 hurdles

False Start

  • One false Start disqualifies the person who committed the offense.

Relays

  • The 4 x 200 and Sprint Medley Relays will use THREE-TURN stagger, 4 x 400 relay TWO-TURN and 4 x 800/Distance Medley Relays will use a ONE-TURN ALLEY start.

Relay Batons

  • Meet Management will NOT provide Batons.

Throwing implements

  • The boys shot put is 12 lbs and girls shot will be 4kg. Implement inspection will be conducted 2 hours prior to the scheduled start of each event.

REGISTRATION

Admission to the SportsPlex

  1. ATHLETES - admission is via competition number and wristband issued.

  2. COACHES - admission via 2017-18 USATF membership cards or $10 per day.

  3. All others must purchase admission wristbands.

ADMISSION TICKETS

  1. Adults - $10 per day or $25 (3 day pass)

  2. Children - 15 & under - $6 per day

  3. NO PASSES

FACILITY

  • 6 lane - 200 meter resurfaced rubber track. Any standard (or less) spikes or flats permitted. All shoes will be checked. No Christmas Tree spikes.

  • 2 - Jump Pits, 1 Shot Put area, 1 Pole Vault runway.

WARMUP

  • Athletes may warm up in the designated area and outdoors. Please use those areas ONLY within 1 hour of your event. Hurdles warm-up area will be provided.

  • Flats ONLY are allowed in the warm up area. NO STARTING BLOCKS are allowed in the warm-ups area.

  • WARM-UP will be permitted at the Sportsplex on (Thursday) before the meet from 4 pm until 8 pm. POLE VAULTERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO WARM-UP (FRIDAY) after the triple jump is completed. POLE VAULTERS MUST BE SUPERVISED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE COACHES.

LOST BIB FEES

  • There will be a $20 to replace a lost bib.

SOUVENIRS

  • Each participant will be guaranteed a meet SOUVENIR, given the following: ENTERING and paying entry fees by SOUVENIR guaranteed DATE (Monday, February 19, 2018) and participating in the competition not merely entering.

  • Thursday, March 1: 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

  • Friday, March 2: 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, March 3: 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

  • Sunday, March 4: 8:00 a.m. - noon

Packets must be picked up 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.

ENTRY INFORMATION

Entry deadline is 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday., February 26, 2018 @www.milestat.com

  • Per athlete: $50

  • ALL entries and PAYMENTS accepted online ONLY!

  • NO REFUNDS!

  • Please make sure that athletes meet entry guidelines before paying entry fees!!!

  • If accepted you will not receive a notice ONLY IF REJECTED with NO REFUNDS!!!

Rules and Sanction

  • USATF rules will apply. Protest must take place 30 minutes of the results announced and accompanied by a $50 cash deposit, refunded only if the protest is upheld.

  • Open Meet sanctioned by USATF and governed by USATF rules.

Travel Information

Air Travel

  • We recommend using Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport. You will not have to deal with rush hour traffic. It's less than 30 minutes from the Sportsplex

  • If you use Norfolk international Airport you will have to take inconsideration rush hour, tunnel and military base traffic. About 30 minutes from the SportsPlex.

  • Richmond International Airport might give the better price but there's construction on 64 East from Williamsburg to Newport News. At least 1 hour and 10 minutes away.
