Meet Information

All athletes on your roster are eligible to compete. Those that don't qualify for the Varsity Division may compete in the appropriate Sub-Varsity division.

The Varsity Girl's & Boy's races are limited to the top four (4) teams and the first fifteen (15) individuals from each of the Championship meet of the four districts that comprise the Central region

Do not wait until the last minute to enter on-line.

DON'T FORGET TO INDICATE YOUR ALL ACADEMIC CANDIDATES WITH AN ASTERISK FOLLOWING THEIR LAST NAME ON YOUR ON-LINE ENTRY.

ENTRY: Participation in the Central Region Cross Country Varsity races is limited to the top

RULES: 4 teams and the top15 individuals from each of the 4 Districts that comprise the Central Region. Participation in the Sub-Varsity races is open to all individuals & teams not qualified for the Varsity races.

ENTRY ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ON-LINE THROUGH MILESTAT.COM

DEADLINE: NO LATER THAN 12:00 MIDNIGHT ON SUN., OCT. 31, 2010. WE WILL NOT USE A PAPER BACKUP THIS YEAR SO PLEASE FOLLOW ALL ON-LINE ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS VERY CAREFULLY.

RULES: Cross Country section of the 2010 National Alliance Edition of Track & Field Rules.

COURSE: 5000 Meters (3.1 miles), mostly grass. Flats or short spikes are recommended. The course is a spectator friendly course.

COURSE: A map of the course is attached. The course will be well marked and easy to follow.

TOURS: Teams and individuals are encouraged to tour the course before the day of the meet.

NOTE: THE COURSE WILL BE CLOSED AT 1:00 PM ON RACE DAY AND NO FURTHER TOURING WILL BE ALLOWED.

ALL The first 15 finishers with a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or better in each of the ACADEMIC Varsity Championship races will earn 2010 CENTRAL REGION ALL ACADEMIC

TEAM: CROSS COUNTRY TEAM HONORS. Only those who are indicated with an asterisk on the on-line entry will be considered. SEE INSTRUCTIONS ATTACHED FOR EDITING YOUR MILESTAT ROSTER TO INCLUDE AN ASTERISK FOR ALL ACADEMIC CANDIDATES

The coach of the winning team in each of the two Championship races will be the COACH OF THE YEAR: CENTRAL REGION COACH OF THE YEAR.

The top individual finisher in each of the two championship races will be designated RUNNER OF THE YEAR: CENTRAL REGION RUNNER OF THE YEAR.

Multi-colored CENTRAL REGIONAL CROSS COUNTRY REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP T-Shirts printed professionally by the same company that supplies the State Meet T-Shirts will be on sale on meet day. PLEASE INFORM YOUR RUNNERS AND PARENTS.

SOUVENIR Souvenir Championship Meet Programs with 44 years of Central Region Cross Country

PROGRAMS: history, team rosters, course maps, All Time Lists, etc. will be on sale at the meet.

CONCESSIONS: The Lee-Davis Booster Club will have drinks and food for sale.

DIRECTIONS: Pole Green Park is located on Pole Green Road about 3 miles from the intersection of

Pole Green Rd, and I-295. Upon entering the Park, stay on the main road past Pole Green Elementary

School to the rear of the park The course is just past the skate park and softball fields.

Parking will be available on the fields adjacent to the course.

THERE IS A RACE FOR ALL OF THE RUNNERS ON YOUR TEAM AT THE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. ALL TEAM MEMBERS NOT QUALIFIED FOR THE VARSITY RACE MAY COMPETE IN THE APPROPRIATE SUB-VARSITY RACE. THEREFORE, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL YOUR DISTRICT MEET TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRIES. SIMPLY ENTER ALL OF THE RUNNERS ON YOUR ROSTER. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DECLARE WHICH RACE THEY WILL RUN IN UNTIL MEET DAY.

INDICATING ALL ACADEMIC CANDIDATES

Below are instructions for coaches on how to edit their team roster on MileStat.com for the online registration to indicate an All-Academic athlete by adding an asterisk (*) to their name.

1. Claim Yourself as Team Admin on your MileStat.com Team Page (if you haven't already)
2. Go To Your Team Page on MileStat.com (found on the teams page link on site. Direct Link: http://va.milesplit.com/teams)
3. Once on your team page, click on the blank "Team Administration" button at the top right of the page to gain access to your team admin area.
4. Once in the team admin area, click on the "Roster" link on the left hand side of the page to edit your team roster.
5. Once in your edit roster page, click individually on each individual athlete who needs to have an asterisk (*) added to their last name for All-Academic designation.
6. In the last name field of their edit athlete profile page, put an asterisk (*) next to their last name.
7. Click on the "Edit Athlete" button at the bottom of the page.
8. Once saved, click on the "Back to Active Roster" to return edit roster page to update another athlete's profile with an All-Academic designation.
