The Knight's cross country teams advanced to the Eastern Region meet with outstanding performances yesterday at the Sportsplex. Seniors, Billy Boros and Zion Gregory dominated the field with beach district record breaking performances, pulling away with 1 mile to go in the 5k race to finish 1-2 in 16:28 and 16:35. It was the first individual champion and runner-up cross country sweep in Kellam boys cross country history. The Knights finished 3rd as a team. Senior, Abby Motley led the girls with a personal best performance of 18:51 as she crossed the line in third. The girls team finished 4th in the meet. Rounding out the top 5 for the men's team were Jake Cunningham, Ryan Zarkowski and Cole Neubert. Freshman Ryan Drew and Christian McDonald were 6 and 7 for the Knights. Running behind Abby for the Lady Knights were, Emily Williams, Rachel Lewis, Julia Motley, Lauren Bernhard, Daphne Effinger and Morgan Ohlinger. Congratulations Kellam cross country and good luck in the Eastern Region meet, November 1st at Bell's Mill Park in Chesapeake. Run Fast!!!
