Lots of speed coming out of Region II, which is normally known as the strongest region for distance. Briar Woods sophomore Brandon Polk rolled in their regional championship meet with victories in the 100 and 200 meter dash to make him the top seed in the 100 meter dash at 10.65 and share the fastest time with Region III winner Stephen Racanelli of Brookville in the 200 meter dash at 21.74. Region II boys could sweep the sprint titles with Polk in the 100 and 200 and then two-time defending Group AA state 400 meter dash champion Steven Graham of Loudoun County trying to become a three-time winner in Harrisonburg as he brings in a season best time of 48.34 in the event.
