The 7th annual MileStat.com Elite Track Gala will be held this Saturday, June 8th at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond. The Gala is a post-season meet for high school athletes looking to extend their outdoor season beyond their state, regional, or district championships with at least one more meet opportunity to compete and lower their times/improve their marks or a chance to compete in new or rarely run high school events such as the 400 hurdles, 1500 meter run, 5000 meter run, and 2000 meter steeplechase. The meet also serves athletes well who are competing at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals, USATF Junior Nationals, and/or summer track (AAU/USATF) with quality tune-up meet in between to stay sharp and race ready in.
This year's meet will be selling for the first-time MileStat.com Elite racing singlets. A great way to distinguish yourself from your peers by obtaining a MileStat.com Elite singlet as a sign that you are truly one of the top tier athletes in the state. You can compete in the singlets if you like this week and/or whenever you want to wear them beyond the meet (a uniform option for nationals and other of-of-season meets). They will be yours to keep.
Online entries close on Tuesday, June 4th at midnight. Athletes or coaches must enter and pay enter fee online thru paypal in registration system (or mail check by June 4th) to avoid $5 late fee per athlete. Entry fee is $20 per athlete (regardless of # of events) or $30 total including entry fee. Please include your singlet size in the question form when you enter online or email sizes to milestat@gmail.com. If you do not pay your entry fee by Friday, June 7th at midnight then you will be scratched from the meet. No day of the meet entry fee payments will be accepted, so either pay online ASAP or mail in your checks as soon as you can.
The Gala is an extremely important and critical fundraiser for MileStat.com. We use profits for the Gala to help pay for our coverage from this past outdoor season as well as the upcoming cross country season. Much of the great on-site meet coverage that you saw on the website from the state championships was made possible due to entry fees from the Gala. If you are a high school athlete and coach in Virginia, MileStat.com travels and attends to covering many of your meets throughout the fall, winter, and spring...is it too much to ask to support us and attend just one of our meets in the Gala this Saturday?
