MileStat.com releases the 2013 pre-season "Cream of the Crop" cross country rankings for the top 25 girls individual runners in the state of Virginia. As likely no surprise to many, the pre-season #1 ranked runner in the state of Virginia is West Springfield senior Caroline Alcorta. While she has a lot of close competition to challenge her this fall in familiar former Northern Region rivals Hannah Christen (a 2012 Nike Cross Nationals individual qualifier) of Lake Braddock and Allie Klimkiewicz (a 2012 Foot Locker Nationals finalist) of Oakton, Alcorta appears to have the clear edge in times and more head to head victories in both cross country and track over Christen and Klimkiewicz to make her #1 going into this fall.
