The Hidden Valley boys and girls cross country teams swept the team titles at their home invitational in the Clash with the Titans on September 21st in Roanoke.

The boys' squad packed it up front with four of the top seven finishers in Noah Long (2nd, 17:08), Sammy LeHardy (3rd, 17:23), Eli Harding (6th, 17:52), and Matthew Camilletti (7th, 17:53). The Patriot Pacers, a squad of home schooled organized runners, was able to break up the Hidden Valley front four along with James River senior Nathaniel Waddell (5th, 17:41) with race winner Stephen Vernon pulling away for a 13 second margin of victory in a 16:55 clocking, while freshmen teammate Micah Pratt also ran strong in fourth place at 17:25.

The Hidden Valley girls had a much more competitive team challenging them for first in the previous VA #25 ranked Patriot Pacers, who were able to put 4 runners in the top 10 themselves with Samantha Schreiber (2nd, 21:04), Annsley Eckert (3rd, 21:05), Charis Jantomaso (11th, 21:30), and Rachel Packer (10th, 21:36) coming across the finish line in a 36 second time gap. The deeper Hidden Valley squad through 6 runners was able to insert their first 6 among the top 12 led by race champion Hailey Singleton, who used her middle distance speed to drive into her kick for a 21:01 win on the challenging Hidden Valley High School home course. Rounding out the scoring five for the VA #16 ranked Hidden Valley squad to complie their low team score of 30 points were Carla Weidner (4th, 21:14), Helena Harding (5th, 21:17), Leslie Weidner (9th, 21:34), and Heather Mwitanti (11th, 21:49).
