Virginians in Saucony Elite National Rankings: Week 3

In this week's Saucony Elite National Rankings by MileSplit, which reflect performances across the United States through the last weekend of September, the state of Virginia has two individuals and one team ranked among the top 25 nationally. West Springfield's Caroline Alcorta moves into the top 10 of the girls individual rankings following a dominant sub 18 minute victory at Maymont. Alcorta races next at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro this weekend. An off weekend from racing for Thomas Edison's Louis Colson, the senior dropped a few places in his inactiveness from his initial debut in the rankings last week but has a great opportunity to really assert himself even more and gain respect nationally at Great American this weekend as one of the individual race contenders. The same holds true for the Blacksburg girls, coming in at US #10 in the national team rankings after taking last weekend off and will be making their second trip in three weekends to Cary, North Carolina as they will be competing in the Race of Champions at WakeMed Soccer Complex on Saturday.
