Race summaries, photos, and videos (except for fr/so girls) to come for all races from Footlocker South in which Virginians participated in.
All five sophomores from Virginia went under 16 minutes with race champion Alex Ott of Turner Ashby (15:45), Kyle Satterwhite of Western Albemarle (2nd, 15:49), James Howard-Smith of Western Albemarle (3rd, 15:54), Tyler Stutzman (4th, 15:54), and Thomas Baker of Louisa County (5th, 15:55). Coach Lindy Bain at Western Albemarle has to be especially happy in looking ahead to the next two cross country seasons having a three sophomores running under 16 minutes for 5K. Virginia won the seeded race with only one senior in Mike Spooner in their top five scorers and the other states in the South region do not look to be getting any relief from continued Virginia dominance as including Thomas Porter finishing tenth in the seeded race to advance onto Footlocker Nationals, Virginia had six of the top ten fastest sophomores in Charlotte this past weekend.
