RICHMOND, VA -- Several of the Richmond area\'s best track athletes made appearances at the CVTF Winter Clinic and Invitational held at the Arthur Ashe Center in Richmond, Virginia including Lee-Davis senior Rachel Butler in her festive holiday striped socks.
Butler set a school record in the high jump clearing 5\'5.50\" and also won the 55 meter hurdles (8.59) on Thursday.

Defending 100 meter state champion Shanneka Claiborne put up a fine early season time at the Ashe Center of 7.24 in the 55 meter dash. Claiborne\'s time ranks as the fastest in the state thus far this season and was the lone performance of the meet to rank on top of the state leaderboard.

The meet also had the return of the Midlothian distance girls since their last races at Nike Team Nationals and in impressive fashion as M.C. Miller trounced defending Central Region 400 meter champion Shae Wilbon of Colonial Heights in a distance versus sprint duel in the 500 meter dash with Miller winning in 1:22. The Lautzenheiser twins of Midlothian showed no signs of slowing down from their phenominal freshmen year of cross country as Kathleen won the 1600 (5:18) and 1000 (3:06) with Leia taking the 3200 (11:19).
Manchester\'s Anthony Chesson breezed through victories in the 55 (6.67) and 300 (37.86) meter dashes, while teammate Antonio Miller won the triple jump with a mark of 44\'11\".
Anne Marie of Mills Godwin continued her consistent level of clearing high heights in the pole vault this winter with a 11\'0\" win.
Both Adam Taylor of Lee-Davis and Harold Williamson of Hermitage both threw 51 feet exactly, but Taylor\'s second best throw gave him the win in the boys\' shot put over Williamson.

Matoaca\'s Aramis Massenburg already has the state\'s fastest time in the 55 meter hurdles with a 7.52 FAT clocking at a Dinwiddie Polar Bear Meet, but went ahead and ran another swift time at the Ashe Center with a 7.63 clocking, which still ranks faster than any other hurdler in the state this winter.
Highland Springs boys had two winners in the jumps with Adams Abdulrazaaq clearing 6\'4\" to win the high jump, while teammate Rashaad Cannon took the long jump in 21\'9\".
Lee-Davis distance runner Robert Reynolds had quite a busy day in tripling in the 1600 meter run, 500 meter dash, and 1000 meter run in a fairly short time frame. Reynolds won the two distance events, while finishing fifth in the 500 meter dash.
Led by Claiborne, the Matoaca girls should be one of the stronger squads in the Central Region this season as they had two more event winners on Thursday with Mia Aghaji in the triple jump (35\'3.75\") and Jasmine Van Story in the shot put (35\'1\").
Armstrong junior Cecily Young turned in a fine 300 meter dash time in the Ashe Center with 43.90 win in the sprint event.
