CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA -- The Lou Onesty Invitational held at Panorama Farms turned out to pit many of the state\'s best collegiate runners against each other in a early season showdown. The Duke University\'s men cross country team (42 pts) came into town and squeaked out a win against William & Mary (45 pts) and University of Virginia (52 pts). Virginia\'s Will Christian scorched the men\'s 8K course in a time of 24:28 to take the individual win. The Tribe of William & Mary were led by All-American senior Ed Moran (3rd, 24:41.5) and redshirt sophomore Matt Maline (6th, 25:00.2), while placing six runners in the top 20 spots. The Cavaliers placed four runners in the top 15 along with Christian including Andy Filacheck (5th, 24:49.8), Dave Vitto (14th, 25:15.2), and freshmen Alex Tatu (15th, 25:16.3). All-American Ali Henderson of William & Mary won the women\'s 5K race by a substantial margin with her time of 17:38.3. The Lady Tribe finished second overall (55 pts) in the team scoring to Duke (37 pts), who swept both team titles. University of Richmond women were a surprisingly strong third (57 pts) ahead of Virginia (64 pts) as the Spiders top three of Lyndsey Webber (4th, 18:01.8), Amanda Russell (5th, 18:09.8), and Danielle Binns (6th, 18:12.2) was impressive.
