HARRISONBURG, VA -- Both James Madison men and women looked impressive at home at the JMU Open. James Madison junior Ted Herbert was the first of 11 Dukes to finish in the top 15 as Herbert was victorious with his time of 25:50.4 in the men's 8K race. The Dukes finished well ahead of runner-up George Washington University (45 pts) with a 21 point total. The James Madison women were even more impressive with a team total of 18 points as sophomore Shannon Saunders of James Madison won the women's 5K race in a stellar time of 19:31.80.
