VHSL Group 5A State Meet Team Preview

Boy’s Teams

The top three teams on the boy’s side have seen a lot of each other this postseason.  Competition has been fierce thus far between the squads as mere points have separated all three at the Conference 11 and 5A South region meets.  Winning both of the postseason meets that have been contested are the Highlanders of Highland Springs. Marcus Taylor looks to be the top scorer for the team as he comes in as the top seed in the 55m and 300m and also is the fourth seed in the long jump.  Senior Tyquan Rowley will also look to contribute big points to the cause as he comes in ranked second in the triple jump, tied for third in the high jump, fifth in the long jump, and sixth in the 500m.  The Highlanders are also seeded second in both the 4x200m and 4x400m relays.
