Despite winning four events, Meredith Willis and her George Wythe teammates failed to put together enough depth to win the title. Winning both team titles were the girls from Buffalo Gap and boys from Auburn high school. Leading the boys side of this state meet was Rural Retreat's Matthew Farmer pulling off an impressive double by winning the 1000 and 1600.
Leading the girls of Buffalo Gap was Kristy Verbeek who not only won the 55m hurdles but also won the high jump and placed highly in the long jump and 55 m dash. Also aiding Buffalo Gap in the girls team title chase were their winning 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams.
