After the first MileStat state meet fantasy team competition with twenty competitors including MileStat's Webmaster and other staff, Anthony Cetto a junior from Thomas Edison remained on top to win with 169 points, winning by a mere seven points.
Despite being a junior who only started running and jumping for Edison this year, Anthony was able to be the master of MileStat by winning this fantasy draft competition. You can say it is because he selected first overall, but I will be the first one to tell you it had nothing to do with picking first and everything to do with picking consistently and making the most out of each selection. Anthony had the highest scoring athlete, DaJuan Seward who scored 56 points and two more selections that were top ten scorers ( Charles Graham and Faith Ross).
Finishing in second was MileStat's Nolan Jez (me) with 162 points. His highest scorer was George Wythe's Meredith Willis who went a perfect 5/5 and scored 50 points. He too had multiple 30+ scorers with Funlayo Oluwole scoring 37 and Ebony White scoring 30. In third place was Addison Roeschley who smartly picked both Brooke and Bria Stith who combined for 89 points to bring her total to 153. After those three it was a thirty point gap back to anyone else's team.
Stats: 12/20 teams finished with over 100 points; Only 1 team had all athletes score over 20 points (Nolan); 16 athletes scored 30 or more points; 5 athletes scored 40 or more points (4 of which were on the top three teams); Out of the 40+ scorers only 1 was not from 1A/2A and that was Milan Parks; 8 athletes who were picked scored zero points; and most importantly is Steven Dunbar who was selected as the 95th selection scored 39 points (placing third overall in team competition for 6A) scored higher then anyone since Milan Parks was selected 39th.
