At the Mobile Challenge of Champions, Robert E. Lee senior Sean Holston won the 400 meter dash in a national leading time of 46.77 to break 47 seconds for the first time and improve upon his 47.12 previous best from his national championship at Nike Indoor Nationals. Holston also ran a US top ten time in the 200 meter dash as he doubled back to win the event in 21.58, which is just off his indoor and all-time best posted at Nike Indoors of 21.53. With his sprint double, Holston was named the MVP of the meet. Not a bad week for Holston with the MVP honors in Alabama as well as announcing his future home at Florida State University.
