California: an excursion
Thursday
On Thursday, I unwillingly woke up at 4:30 after going to sleep only a few hours before. I ate a quick matzo muffin (Passover had started a few days before) and caught a 7:00 flight out of Roanoke with my mom. My dad was already in California on a sailing trip with his bro, so it was just the two of us. After making it to Chicago, we continued on to the Los Angeles Airport, where we met up with my brother Gordon shortly after we landed. I was psyched to see him but of course he pretended to hug me than jumped out of the way, as usual. Gordon and I got the rental car with my mom and then headed off to meet Sarah at her dorm. She’s a freshman at UCLA and the real reason we were visiting. She introduced us to a bunch of her friends, including her two roommates Peggy and Joy Sun.
