Weini Kelati 18:12, Wins Oatlands Invitational (After stopping twice to tie her shoes)
There usually is little more you can say about a freshman winning the largest meet in the state but with Kelati there is. Kelati did so by running a 5:26 opening mile, cruising mind you, and also stopping twice to tie her shoes. That added on at least 10-15 seconds and let's not forget this is not a terribly fast course either. Running that type of time, with horrible shoes that came untied, on this course is simply amazing. Can we just have a Libby Davidson and Kelati matchup already!?
