Heather Holt (Fr.) VA #8 18:02
The second fastest freshman and the girl who actually beat Emma at states is Heather Holt. Heather started things off right on Saturday at States by being the first of three underclass girls to come away with a state title. Heather ran her best race of the year at states when she pulled away late in the race to come away with a victory and a new 18:02 pr. She was leading with her twin sister, Ashley, throughout most of the race but unfortunately Ashley collapsed late in the race. If Ashley had not done so we could very well be seeing both girls on the first team.
