Cavaliers Take Third at ACC Cross Country Championships

Will Christian and Jane Maxwell both earn All-Conference Honors

WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- The Virginia men's cross country team finished third at the ACC Cross Country Championships for the second consecutive year, led in 2003 by All-ACC performer Will Christian, who finished third overall. The Cavaliers had five performers finish in the top 24, with a pack of four runners finishing within a span of 18 seconds. Virginia had 83 points, just behind Florida State's 66 points. NC State won the men's race with 27 points.

Jane Maxwell also earned All-Conference honors with her eighth-place finish as the Cavalier women took sixth overall with 142 points, seven points behind Florida State.

Virginia returns home to host the Cavalier Open on November 8 at Panorama Farms.
