Oatlands Invite will be 71 teams, 3,500 runners strong including Saratoga Springs of NY

The 2007 Oatlands Invitational will take place on Saturday, September 29th on the grounds of the Oatlands Plantation located just south of Leesburg on Route 15.  The event is co-sponsored by Loudoun County High School and Freedom High School and organized annually by Derek Farrey and Matt Oblas.

In only it’s third year of existence, the meet attracts teams from five different states including schools from as far north as New York.  The competition is comprised of 71 teams and over 3,500 runners, making this one of the largest meets in Virginia.  The featured team this year is Saratoga Springs High School out of New York and they bring a girl’s team that is ranked #10 in the NTN (Nike Poll)  and Harrier polls.  Saratoga Springs’ Hannah Davidson returns as the overall top female runner from the state of New York.

Every school in Loudoun County will be on hand to conquer the 3.1-mile course of hills, flats and creek crossings, along with many other teams throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
