After three long days in Philly, Virginia can now confidently say they made serious history up at the 121st Penn Relays Carnival. In total we walked away with one relay title (Patriot Girls DMR) and two individual titles (Andrew Hunter-Mile, Kate Murphy-3000) and numerous top five finishes.
Starting with Saturday's competition, we had some big names on the track even as the day started. The day started off in a big way with T.C. Williams running a VA #3 all-time 3:12 4x400 in qualifying to advance to the COA final as the top seed thanks in no small part to both Noah and Josephus Lyles splitting 45.7! The followed that up with a 40.84 4th place finish in the COA 4x100 winning another set of gold watches as they were the first American team. The time is US #4 this season and the only time inside the top fifteen that is not CA, FL, or TX. That quartet was both Lyles brothers, Mahlique Booth, and Trekel Lockett.
