Shannon Saunders, Emily Harrison, Sarah Bowman, Catherine White, and Christina Lee. Okay. It might be too early to add the Potomac Falls sophomore Lee to the list of recent Group AA distance greats, but then again none of the four former Group AA state champions can say they ran 5:01 for 1600 meters as a freshmen and sub 18 minutes for 5K as a sophomore. Lee is well on pace to join them as a state cross country champion with her recent performances, which have elevated her to a #1 ranking in AA and a #5 ranking in Virginia. MileStat.com's Brandon Miles was able to catch up with emerging young star Lee for an interview.

 

 
MileStat.com: When did you first start running and why?

Christina Lee: I first started competitively running last cross country season. I also played soccer for ten years and basketball for six. Mainly, I run because I love to.
