The Oakton boys cross country team entered yesterday's Concorde District cross country meet with a plan, and the Cougars executed to perfection. Oakton swept the top four spots in the boys race – and had six of seven runners in the top 15 – en route to its third straight district team championship.
“Our idea was to get as many guys to the front of the pack as we could,” said Cougars coach Phil Tiller. “The guys came in here and knew what they had to do. Our goal was to win our third straight district title. It's a goal they took extremely seriously.”
