Maggie Walker junior Susannah Piersol competed at the USATF Region III Championships in Winston, Georgia this past Saturday and clocked a swift personal best time of 18:06 for 5K to finish second behind a 2005 Foot Locker finalist in Emily Reese from Georgia. Reese, a 4:47 miler and 10:17 2 miler on the track, rolled out a fast time of 16:59 on the Clinton Farms 5K course in a final tuneup prior to Foot Locker South. Piersol will be competing in the USATF Junior Olympic Cross Country Nationals along with Maggie Walker teammate Justin Pierce (11th, 16:47, young men division) in Lawrence, Kansas at Rim Rock Farm on Saturday, December 8th.
